SharePoint Password Change and Expiration can help prevent password expiration by notifying users prior to password expiration. The user can easily update their password using the main user menu in SharePoint. By proactively notifying users of password expiration True Costs of Downtime (TCD) can be drastically reduced.
SharePoint Password Change & Expiration Features
With a Password Change Web Part, end users can change their own password without having to call the helpdesk or IT administrators, thus greatly reducing an administrator’s workload.
Proactively send an email notification to users when their password expiration date is approaching. Administrators can schedule when and how frequently reminder emails should be sent to users.
Supports Windows authenticated and Forms-based authenticated users to change their password. This includes:
Active Directory.
NT Directory.
SQL Membership Provider (SqlMembershipProvider).
LDAP directory (LdapMembershipProvider).
Administrators can publish password policies on the Web Part to help users see policy requirements and complexities. A warning message will inform users once a password change fails or does not comply with a company’s password policy.
Automatically send confirmation email to inform users once their password has been changed successfully.
The Password Change function is available in the personal menu.
Exclude users or groups from receiving password expiration notifications or password change confirmation emails.
Works for single servers, multiple servers, multiple domains and forests.
A log system is available to track and monitor all password change activities.
